Words with Friends on a Charter Bus

One of the most downloaded apps for smartphones is Words with Friends. My own friends had been raving about this app for ages, asking if I was on it. I wasn’t sure if I should download it because I was always terrible at Scrabble. After enough people pestered me about it, I finally caved and I’m glad I did. On the app, you can look for your friends or play with random strangers (although I’m convinced it’s a rigged computer because it got all the best letters).

When you’re stuck on a charter bus service for hours, this is a great game to have. Not only is it so much fun, it’s actually one of the few games that makes you think. Any game that increases your IQ and/or makes you seem smarter is good in my book. But I must say, if you’re really terrible with words, you’ll make for a lousy partner. One friend of mine kept using two and three letter words. In the end, it just makes it harder to create a new chain of words if everything is three letters long. So be careful who you choose to play with.

Before you know it, your charter bus trip will be over and you’ll arrive at your destination just a little bit smarter, I hope.
